The halls are cleared, the last vehicles long back on the road. IAA Transportation 2026 ended on Sunday, and our first impression after clearing up is: it was worth it.
Kerstner was in Hanover without its own stand, yet visible in several places across the grounds. Our bodies were displayed by the partners with whom we developed them: the eMovano at Opel (Stellantis), the eSprinter at Mercedes-Benz. Both were exactly where visitors were already passing.
That was where things became interesting. People stopping in front of a refrigerated body rarely ask about the paintwork. They asked about range with refrigeration running, payload, multi-compartment temperature control and service across Europe: exactly the issues we have been working on for months. Feedback on both vehicles was consistently positive, and many brief questions turned into longer conversations.
What stood out was how naturally people discussed electric refrigerated vehicles. Two years ago, the question was whether to use them. This time, it was route planning, charging infrastructure and which conversion suits which operating profile. That is good news for us, because these are precisely the questions we can answer.
Our thanks go to Opel and Stellantis, and to Mercedes-Benz, for their hospitality on the stands and the excellent cooperation during preparation. And to everyone who took time for a conversation, sometimes standing, sometimes over coffee, often longer than planned.
